Pioneers 99... Dickinson State JV 62
The MCC Pioneer women were on the losing end of a 63-point route in Gillette, WY on Saturday. On Tuesday night, the Pioneers turned the tides on the Dickinson State JV. MCC raced out to a 30-8 advantage after one quarter of play and cruised to a 99-62 win in the final home game for the Pioneers in 2025. The two teams met earlier in the season and the Pioneers had to rally from a 12-point 4th quarter deficit to beat DSU JV by 2.
Laynee Elness (Freshman - Winifred, MT) pumped in 30 points (10-18 FG, 3-6 3's, 7-7 FT) and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead a quartet of Pioneers in double figures. Matilda Sanz (Freshman - Madrid, Spain) stuffed the stat sheet on Tuesday night by scoring 20 points (8-20 FG, 0-5 3's, 4-4 FT) to go along with 8 rebounds, 7 steals, and 4 assists. Ebele Mbagwu did some stuffing as well collecting 16 points (8-13 FG, 0-2 3's, 0-0 FT), 15 rebounds (9 offensive), and 6 assists. Hailey Dennison (Freshman - Shepherd, MT) had 14 points (7-14 FG) and 8 rebounds.
