Laynee Elness (Freshman - Winifred, MT) poured in 30 points (10-19 FG, 2-5 3's, 8-10 FT), had 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the MCC Pioneers used a 27-13 3rd quarter explosion to sneak past Region IX Gillette College 81-77 on Saturday afternoon in Miles City, MT. The Pioneers trailed 44-32 at halftime and took a 2-point lead going to the 4th quarter. 

Ebele Mbagwu (Freshman - Bakersfield, CA) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points (5-11 FG, 0-2 3's, 0-2 FT) and grabbing 11 rebounds. Mbagwu also had 4 assists and 4 steals. Matilda Sanz (Freshman - Madrid, Spain) added 15 points (7-20 FG, 1-3 3's), 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Pien Draisma (Sophomore - Katwijk, Netherlands) helped out with 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3's).
