Kortum Nabs 1st Win as Pioneer Head Coach

The MCC Pioneers got their 1st victory of the Sam Kortum era with a 77-55 win over the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks. The Pioneers led from start to finish in the game and built up a 25-point lead late in the 3rd quarter. 

Matilda Sanz (Freshman - Madrid, Spain) came up with a 26 point (11-22 FG, 3-10 3's, 1-2 FT) 10 steal performance to lead the way for the Pioneers. Ebele Mbagwu (Bakersfield, CA) had 18 points (8-11 FG, 0-1 3's, 2-4 FT), 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Laynee Elness (Freshman - Winifred, MT) had a team high 5 assists and also gathered 6 rebounds. Hailey Dennison (Freshman - Shepherd, MT) also had 6 rebounds.
