Northwest College Pulls Past Pioneers With Late Shooting Spree

Northwest College connected on 4 consecutive 3-point field goals to break open a close game in the final 4 minutes as the Trappers ended the Pioneers non-conference schedule with a 98-83 Trapper victory on Thursday night in Miles City, MT. 

Tesloch Thong (6'2 Sophomore - Melbourne, Australia) scored 22 points (10-17 FG, 1-2 3's, 1-1 FT) to lead 4 Trappers in double figures. Colin Hayes (6'6 Sophomore - Fort Collins, CO) added 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3's, 1-1 FG) and snagged 8 rebounds and fellow Fort Collins native Drew Larson (6'6 Sophomore) chipped in with 14 points (6'8 FG, 0-1 3's, 2-2) and 7 rebounds. Preston Condie (6'5 Sophomore - Price, UT) also had 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3's).

5 Pioneers hit in double figures led by Jace Hill (6'0 Freshman - Columbia Falls, MT) with 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3's, 2-2 FT) and 6 assists. Azenio Cossa (6'2 Freshman - Maputo, Mozambique) netted 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3's, 2-2 FT) and grabbed 5 rebounds while Mack Page (6'5 Sophomore - Worland, WY) added 12 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3's, 2-5 FT). Koak Kok (6'7 Sophomore - Ulan, South Sudan) had 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT). Colton Hawkins (6'5 Sophomore - Pueblo, CO) had 9 points and a team high 6 rebounds. Donnie Haney (6'1 Freshman - Baton Rouge, LA) had 10 points (3-10 FG, 2-9 3's, 2-2 FT) off the bench.

The Trappers moved to 12-5 on the season and the Pioneers fell to 9-9. MCC will travel to Bismarck State on Sunday to resume MonDak Conference play at 2:00 PM MST.
