Gillette Remains Unbeaten as Pronghorns Sneak By Pioneers

The MCC Pioneers gave the undefeated Gillette College Pronghorns a scare on Thursday afternoon in Gillette, WY but the Pronghorns made the plays they needed to late to stave off an upset bid by the Pioneers. 

The Pioneers trailed the Pronghorns 50-38 at halftime but turned the tides in the 2nd half taking the lead with 6 minutes to play but the Pronghorns shot 16-18 from the free throw line in the 2nd half to win their 10th consecutive game. 

Gillette got 26 points (10-18 FG, 0-5 3's, 6-7 FT) and 11 rebounds from Andrew Fuquay (6'8 Sophomore - Detroit, MI) as 3 Pronghorns registered double-doubles. Dane Christensen (6'7 Freshman - Orem, UT) had 14 points (5-15 FG, 2-8 3's, 2-2 FG)  to go along with 11 rebounds while Jefferson Neary (6'2 Sophomore - Gillette, WY) added 16 points (5-11 FG, 2-3 3's, 4-4 FT) and 10 assists. Caleb Hollenbeck (6'4 Sophomore - Rapid City, SD) had 13 points (5-15 FG, 3-10 3's) while Javonne Nesbit (6'5 Sophomore - Froid, MT) came off the bench to score 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-5 FT's).

MCC was led by Yohandry Ortiz (6'5 Freshman - Naples, FL) with 27 points (9-18 FG, 5-8 3's, 4-5 FT) to go along with 8 rebounds. Azenio Cossa (6'2 Freshman - Maputo, Mozambique) added 19 points (9-22 FG, 1-5 3's, 0-2 FT), 9 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Pioneers. Mack Page (6'5 Sophomore - Worland, WY) added 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 FT) and Koak Kok (6'7 Sophomore - Ulan, South Sudan) had 12 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3's, 4-6 FT)
