Pioneers 70... North Idaho College 98

Vaughn Weems (6'3 Sophomore - Federal Way, WA) scored 33 points (13-21 FG, 1-4 3's, 6-8 FT) and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the North Idaho College Cardinals to a 98-70 non-conference win over the MCC Pioneers on Saturday afternoon in Coeur d' Alene, ID. The game was close in the first 10 minutes as there were 4 ties and 4 lead changes before the Cardinals built a 50-30 halftime lead and never looked back registering their 6th win of the season against 3 losses. 

Ne'quan Brown (6'8 Freshman - Tacoma, WA) added 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-3 3's) and 8 rebounds while Deng Diew (6'7 Sophomore - Omaha, NE) came off the bench to score 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-2 FT) and haul in 12 rebounds for NIC. 

The Pioneers had 4 players in double figures led by Azenio Cossa (6'2 Freshman - Maputo, Mozambique) with 15 points (6-12 FG, 1-5 3's, 2-4 FT) 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Koak Kok (6'7 Sophomore - Ulan, South Sudan) had 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-4 FT) and 6 rebounds. Yohandry Ortiz (6'5 Freshman - Naples, FL) had 13 points (4-14 FG, 2-4 3's, 3-3 FT) and Colton Hawkins (6'5 Sophomore - Pueblo, CO) added 11 points (3-7 FG, 3-4 3's, 2-2 FT) off the bench.
