Pioneers 68... Gillette College 106
The MCC Pioneers had their coldest shooting night of the season and Gillette was the opposite as the Pronghorns won their season opener 106-68 in Miles City at the Pioneer Foundation Classic.
Gillette had 6 players score in double figures led by Caleb Hollenbeck (6'3 Sophomore) who had the hot hand and knocked down 7 3-pointers en route to 23 points (8-14 FG, 7-13 3's) and also had 5 rebounds. Andrew Fuquay (6'8 Sophomore) had a double double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Sayed Sayed (6'4 Freshman) had 16 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3's, 1-2 FT) off the bench and Dorell Thomas (6'5 Sophomore) had 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3's, 2-4 FT). Jefferson Neary (6'3 Sophomore) notched 10 points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3's, 2-2 FT) and had 6 assists.
The Pioneers were led by Yohandry Ortiz (6'5 Freshman - Naples, Florida) with 21 points (6-20 FG, 0-6 3's, 9-13 FT) and 7 rebounds, while Mack Page (6'5 Sophomore - Worland, WY) had 14 points (4-10 FG, 2-3 3's, 4-7 FT) as did Azenio Cossa (6'3 Freshman - Maputo, Mozambique) (5-13 FG, 2-5 3's, 2-3 FT). Colton Hawkins (6'5 Sophomore - Pueblo, CO) had 6 rebounds.
