Season Ends For Pioneer Volleyball in Gutwrenching 5-Set Loss in Region XIII Semifinal

Pioneers 2... Lake Region State 3 (21-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-18, 11-15)

The Pioneer volleyball season came to a close in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday in Wahpeton, ND in the Region XIII Semifinals. MCC rallied from a 2-set hole to tie the match and send it to a deciding 5th game. 

After a big Pioneer rally and visions of the championship match, Lake Region State found what they needed to gain back momentum and move in to the championship match. 

For the Pioneers on offense, Taiya Guptill (Freshman - Hardin, MT) racked up 46 assists and 1 ace, 21 of those assists to Zeason Schaffer (Sophomore - Broadus, MT). Cameron Blevins (Sophomore - Shelby, MT) and Savanah Newsom (Freshman - Great Falls, MT) each had an assist. 

Defensively, Blevins had 28 digs and Angeline Riener (Freshman - Fort Benton, MT) had 5 blocks. 

The Pioneer season comes to an end with a 14-12 record.
