Pioneers 3... Rocky Mountain College JV 1 (18-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-20)
The MCC Pioneer volleyball team got off to a slow start on Monday night at the MCC Centra and dropped game one to the Rocky Mountain College JV. That served as noticed that the Pioneers better pick up their effort and it resulted in a blowout from that point forward.
Rocky Mountain College broke away from a close game 1 as they scored 10 of the final 14 points in the game for a 25-18 win.
The Pioneers took the 3-minute break between games to heart and jumped out to a 7-0 lead from the 1st serve. That lead jumped to 10-1 and MCC cruised to a 25-14 win in game 2.
MCC held comfortable leads throughout games 3-4 to post the victory and move their season record to 4-3.
Offensively, the Pioneers got 19 kills from Zeason Schaffer (Sophomore - Broadus, MT). The setup tandem of Taiya Guptill (Freshman - Hardin, MT) and Holland Stowe (Sophomore - Buffalo, WY) each had 19 assists in the match. Stowe and Mia Mader (Sophomore - Broadus, MT) each had 5 service aces.
Cameron Blevins (Sophomore - Shelby, MT) came up with 29 digs and Grace Gackle (Sophomore - Circle, MT) had 4 blocks to lead MCC defensively.
The Pioneers will host Northwest College on Tuesday night at 6:00 PM. The Trappers defeated the Pioneers 3-2 last weekend in Gillette, WY.
