Pioneers 1... Eastern Wyoming 3 (25-18, 19-25, 19-25, 25-27)

MCC stepped up a division to face Region IX Eastern Wyoming College on Saturday afternoon in Miles City and the Pioneers gave the D1 Lancers all they could handle before falling in 4 games. 

The Pioneers looked sharp in game 1 and took the 1st game 25-18. EWC rallied to win the next 2 and MCC looked like it was going to win game 4 when it led 23-20 but the Lancers rallied to preserve the victory. 

MCC was led offensively by the return of Bailey Nowicki (Miles City, MT) from injury to have 29 assists. Ashtynn Egan (Colstrip, MT) had 14 kills and Mia Mader (Broadus, MT) served up 5 aces. 

Bree Swanson (Chinook, MT) dug up 33 kill attempts by the Lancers and the combination of Ruby Gray (Billings, MT) and Hattie Bumgarner (Belt, MT) each had 4 blocks. 

The Pioneers are now 7-7 on the season and will host MonDak Conference leading Bismarck State on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.
