The MCC Pioneer volleyball team kicked off their 2024 season with a road trip to Powell, WY and Helena, MT. 

MCC went 2-1 on the road trip losing the season opener to Region IX member Northwest College before defeating rival Dawson and then followed that up with a win over the Carroll College JV.

The Pioneers were led on offense by Ashtynn Egan (Colstrip, MT) with 33 kills and 4 aces on the weekend. Freshman Zeason Schaffer (Broadus, MT) added 27 kills. 

Bailey Nowicki (Miles City, MT) had 80 assists in the 3 matches. 

On defense, Bree Swanson (Chinook, MT) had 55 digs and Egan added 40. Hattie Bumgarner (Belt, MT) came up with 9 blocks. 

The Pioneers will open MonDak Conference play at home on Tuesday night (8/27) against Dawson at 7:00 PM.
