Pioneers Sweep Dakota College at Bottineau

The MCC Pioneer volleyball team took command early and then held on late to take a 3-0 MonDak Conference win over Dakota College at Bottineau at the MCC Centra. The Pioneers were rolling early dominating every part of Game 1 with a 25-7 win. Game 2 was much of the same as the Pioneers won 25-16. The Lumberjacks rallied and put up a fight in Game 3 in a marathon before the Pioneers were able to squeak out a 33-31 win. 

Leading the way for the Pioneers at the net were Angela Youngs (Gillette, WY) with 13 kills and Olivia Cook (Belgrade, MT) with 12. Setting up the hitters were Jacey Rowland (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) and Mandi Tvedt (Glenrock, WY) with 21 and 18 assists respectively. Chloe Cota (Roundup, MT) served up 4 aces in the match. Defensively, Cassidy Acor (Havre, MT) had 4 blocks while Havre High School teammate Samantha Oliver and Youngs each had 16 digs. 

Miles moves to 7-4 in MonDak Conference play and 14-11 overall. They will host Dawson CC in the regular season finale Wednesday night and will also be Sophomore night for 11 of the Pioneer volleyball players.
