Nationally Ranked Bismarck State Stops Pioneers in 4

The MCC Pioneers put up a good fight on Tuesday night at the MCC Centra but eventually fell victim to MonDak Conference leading and 21st ranked Bismarck State 18-25, 22-25, 25-16, 18-25. 

Game 1 was tied at 17 but Bismarck State rattled off 7 points in a row before the Pioneers finally scored but couldn't get over the hump losing 18-25. Game 2 was knotted at 22 before BSC scored the final 3 points of the game to win 22-25. MCC controlled Game 3 to get back in the match with a convincing 25-16 win. Bismarck State then got right back on track taking control of Game 4 early for the win 18-25. 

The Pioneers were led offensively by Olivia Easton (Billings, MT) with 18 kills and 1.5 blocks defensively. Jacey Rowland (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) and Mandi Tvedt (Glenrock, WY) each had 20 assists on the night. Sam Oliver (Havre, MT) had 21 digs and her Havre High teammate Cassidy Acor had 1.5 blocks. The Pioneers are now 10-11 overall, 4-4 in MonDak Conference play, and travel to Dickinson, ND to play the Dickinson State JV at 6:00 PM MST.
