Pioneers 3... NDSCS 1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-18)

The 2021 MonDak Conference Volleyball season started out with a resounding upset by the MCC Pioneers. The Pioneers knocked off the defending conference and Region XIII champion NDSCS Wildcats to go 1-0 in conference play. 

Playing their 13th consecutive road match to start the season, the Pioneers responded in a big way on Tuesday night. Angela Youngs (Gillette, WY) had a huge night with 17 kills and 26 digs to lead the way for the Pioneers. Jacey Rowland (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) had 21 assists while Mandi Tvedt (Glenrock, WY) and Sydney Johnstone (Miles City, MT) each had 1 serving ace on the evening. Olivia Easton (Billings, MT), Cassidy Acor (Havre, MT), and Johnstone all had 1 block in the match. 

The Pioneers will play their 7th match in 5 days tomorrow night in Devils Lake, ND with another conference match against Lake Region State College at 6:00 PM MST.
