Pioneers 2... Jamestown JV 3 (25-15, 21-25, 15-25, 26-24, 11-15)

The Pioneer volleyball team started out strong on Friday afternoon but fell to the Jamestown College JV in a 5 game thriller.  After a dominating 25-15 win in game 1, MCC dropped the next 2 games before evening things up after 4. The Pioneers couldn't get over the hump in the 5th game to take the loss. 

Leading the way for MCC offensively, Olivia Cook (Belgrade, MT) had 11 aces, Jacey Rowland (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) dished out 21 assists, and Angela Youngs (Gillette, WY) had 3 serving aces. Defensively the Pioneers got 2.5 blocks from Sydney Johnstone (Miles City, MT) and 25 digs from Samantha Oliver (Havre, MT)

Pioneers 0... Bismarck State 3 (15-25, 9-25, 19-25)

Bismarck State got things going early and often in a dominating performance on their home floor on Friday afternoon. Leading the way for the Pioneers defensively was Oliver with 12 digs and Cook with 1 block. Rowland had 8 assists, Johnstone had 1 ace, and Josee Krum (Worden, MT), Olivia Easton (Billings, MT), and Johnstone all had 4 kills for the Pioneers. 

MCC will be back on the floor Saturday against Lake Region State College at 9:30 AM and Dakota College at Bottineau at 12:30 PM MST.
