The MCC Pioneer volleyball team got their 2021 fall campaign going in fine fashion on Thursday night in Helena, MT. The NJCAA Pioneers stunned Frontier Conference's Carroll College 3-1 with a 25-18, 26-28, 25-19, 25-17 victory in the first match of the season. 

Then Pioneers were led by Angela Youngs (Gillette, WY) with 11 kills and Jacey Rowland (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) with 20 assists. The Havre, MT connection of Sam Oliver (17 digs) and Cassidy Acor (5 blocks) were instrumental in the victory. Mandi Tvedt (Glenrock, WY) led the team with 3 aces. 

The two teams will play again tomorrow at 3:00 PM in the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge in Butte, MT. The Pioneers will then face Northwest College from Powell, WY at 7:00 PM.
