Pioneers 84... Lake Region State 94
The MCC Pioneers built a 10-point 1st half lead and led 46-42 at the halftime break. Once again, early in the 2nd half, the Pioneers built a 10-point lead. What happened after that is something the Pioneers would like to forget.
The Pioneers connected on just 14-45 field goals in the 2nd half including 3-20 from the 3-point line as they watched their lead slip away and LRSC gained all the momentum sending the Royals to a 94-84 win on Super Bowl Sunday in Devils Lake, ND.
Four Royals scored in double figures led by Jeremiah Johnson off the bench with 21 points (7-16 FG, 2-6 3's, 5-5 FT) and Remy Davis Warrington with 20 points (5-16 FG, 1-5 3's, 9-10 FT) and 13 rebounds.
The Pioneers also had 4 players in double figures led by Azenio Cossa (6'3 Sophomore - Maputo, Mozambique) with 20 points (9-21 FG, 0-6 3's, 2-2 FT), 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
