Pioneer Men Can't Find the Range in Loss to Central Wyoming

The MCC Pioneer Men's basketball team couldn't find the range at home on Friday night  and lost a 72-60 slugfest to visiting Central Wyoming College. The Rustlers shot 15-30 (50%) in the 2nd half to outscore the Pioneers 41-34 in the half after the Pioneers had cut a 5-point halftime deficit to one point early in the 2nd half. 

Jesse White led the Rustlers with 20 points (5-14 FG, 3-9 3's, 7-8 FT). The only other Rustler in double figures was Jack Chlumak with 12 points (4-10 FG, 3-5 3's, 1-3 FT). Jared Lucas led the Rustlers in rebounds with 9 and the Rustlers held a 49-48 advantage on the board. The Pioneers couldn't make use of 12 offensive rebounds shooting only 20-53 (38%) on 2-point attempts. The Pioneers hit only 2-15 on 3-point attempts and 14-22 free throws. 

The only Pioneer in double figures was Ray Daniels (Las Vegas, NV) with 20 points (7-18 FG, 0-2 3's, 6-7 FT). Paul Gakmar (Perth, Australia) had 8 rebounds and Eli Habighorst (Las Vegas, NV) had 3 assists in a game that saw MCC only have 7 assists. The Pioneers had 18 turnovers compared to 17 for the Rustlers. 

The Pioneers return to the Centra on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM MST against the University of Jamestown JV in non-conference action.
