Pioneers Lose at Dawson With 2nd Half Struggles

Miles Community College Men's Basketball trailed 45-44 early in 2nd half Sunday afternoon in Glendive. That deficit grew to as many as 19 points with 8:00 to go in the game as the Pioneers got blasted on the boards and couldn't secure and of the key defensive rebounds they needed as league leading Dawson cruised to a 88-69 win.

Dawson outrebounded MCC 42-22 on the game including 20 offensive rebounds and MCC turned it over 23 times as what was a close game early in the 2nd half went south for the Pioneers in a hurry. Dylan Hushaw (6'2 Guard, Las Vegas, NV) was the lone bright spot scoring 24 points (8-15 FG, 6-9 3's, 2-3 FT) and grabbed 8 rebounds in the loss. Favour Chukwukelu (6'2 Guard, Las Vegas) was the only other Pioneer in double figures with 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3's). Dunstan Esimone (6'7 Forward, Tiko, Cameroon) helped out with 7 rebounds and Eli Habighorst (6'0 Guard, Las Vegas) had 5 assists.

Dawson was led by Michael Jok (6'4 Guard, Melbourne, Australia) with 20 points (8-14 FG, 2-5 3's, 2-4 FT) and Charles Lampton (6'11 Forward) with 19 points (9-13 FG, 0-1 3's, 1-2 FT) and 18 rebounds (9 offensive).
