2nd Half Melt Down Dooms Pioneers

What was a close game early in the 2nd half turned in to a route as the Dawson Buccaneers outscored Miles 55-27 in the 2nd half to open the 2021 season as Dawson ran away with a 95-63 win on Wednesday night in Miles City. The Pioneers took an early 43-42 lead in early in the 2nd half but they turned the ball over 20 times in the 2nd half and Dawson capitalized on the MCC mistakes to move to 1-0 in MonDak Conference play. The Pioneers fall to 0-1 and host United Tribes Technical College on Saturday at 1:00 PM.

Dawson had 3 players in double figures led by Hezekiah Swanson with 22 (8-13 FG, 4-5 3's) and Kennedy Brown with 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-2 3's). Jajuan Tot added 11 as every Buccaneer that suited up found the scoring and rebounding column. Isaiah Bouchard led DCC with 7 rebounds as the Bucs out rebounded the Pioneers 45-36.

Miles had an astounding 33 turnovers on the evening and shot a mere 38% from the field. 6'8 Sophomore Remy Lemovou led the Pioneers with 21 points (7-9 FG, 7-7 FT) and 12 rebounds. Jakim Ricketts added 14 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3's). Dylan Hushaw had 8 assists for the Pioneers.
