(Bottineau, ND) The Pioneers got back in the win column on Wednesday evening, when they defeated Dakota College, 90-70. The last time these two teams met, it came down to an overtime thriller. The Pioneers were determined not to let it get that close this time. The Pioneers were in their rhythm from the beginning, taking an early lead on the Jacks. MCC had a 44-30 lead at the half. It was more Pioneer offense in the second half and the Jacks were unable to recover. Dakota College just couldn't compete with the Pioneers, and MCC got the easy victory, 90-70. With this win, the Pioneers improve to 12-15 on the season and 4-7 in conference play.
DA Wyche led the Pioneers in scoring with 26, followed by Gedeon Buzangu with 22. Buzangu completed the double-double with 11 rebounds to lead the team. Buzangu also led the Pioneers in assists with four.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Monday, February 18 in the Kailey Gymnasium at 7:30 pm when they face the Tetons of Williston State.
