(Miles City, MT) Lake Region State College traveled to Miles City to face the Pioneers in a conference matchup on Thursday evening. MCC led much of the first half, but with 2:03 to play, the Royals regained the lead. Trailing at the half, 33-36, the Pioneers came out strong in the second half and were able to momentarily regain the lead. However, the Royals wouldn't go away and would regain the lead and the momentum with a 3-point shot from Jayden Komrosky. The Pioneers fell 67-79 to move to 1-2 in the conference and 9-10 overall.
DA Wyche and Gedeon Buzangu led the Pioneers in scoring with 14 apiece, followed by Issac Abergut with 12. Buzangu completed the double-double with 13 rebounds to lead the team. Akeemis Williams, Wyche, and Joey Lodine each had two assists.
The Pioneers will travel to Williston, ND to face the Tetons on Monday, January 21 at 6:30 pm.
