Pioneers 53... Dickinson State JV 39

In a game where scoring was hard to come by for both squads, the MCC Pioneers won out in a defensive slugfest 53-39 over the Dickinson State JV. Neither team could get anything going from the get go as the Pioneers led 25-12 at the half. 

The 2nd half was back and forth as neither team would make much of a run one way or the other and the Pioneers outscored Dickinson 28-27 in the 2nd half. 

Lainey Smith (Sophomore - Miles City, MT) registered the 1st double double of her career with 15 points (5-15 FG, 2-6 3's, 3-4 FT) and 12 rebounds to lead the way for MCC. Hannah Wildner (Melbourne, Australia) added 10 points (3-11 FG, 4-4 FT).

• The Pioneers shot 18-52 (35%) from the field and 5-16 (31%) from the 3-point line. MCC was 12-13 at the free throw line. 
• The Bluehawks shot 15-62 (24%) from the field and 7-23 (30%) from the 3-point line. DSU JV was only 2-3 from the free throw line. 
• MCC outrebounded Dickinson State 35-26. MCC had 5 offensive rebounds and DSU had 8.
• MCC had 14 turnovers to 11 for DSU.
