Pioneers 49... Gillette College 77

Former Pioneer coach Liz Lewis brought her Gillette Pronghorns in to the MCC Centra on Friday and took care of the Pioneers 77-49 in the Pioneer Foundation Classic. 

Rochelle Afo-Manuma came off the Pronghorn bench to lead Gillette with 24 points (12-16 FG) and fellow bench player Danae Asiata added 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-9 3's) in the victory. Gillette led 20-10 at the end of the 1st quarter and built the lead to 18 points at halftime. MCC would not come any closer in the 2nd half. 

MCC was led by Hannah Wildner (Melbourne, Australia) with 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 FT) and Freshman Taylor McCarthy (Hamilton, MT) got in to double figures with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3's). Lainey Smith (Miles City, MT) led the Pioneers with 6 rebounds.

• MCC shot 19-44 (43%) from the field and 5-14 (36%) from the 3-point line. MCC was 11-12 at the free throw line.

• MCC committed 19 turnovers to only 5 for the Pronghorns. 
• Gillette had 21 2nd chance points to only 2 for Miles.
