Guard Binta Salawu (Sydney, Australia) scored 18 points and collected 7 rebounds and the MCC Women won a defensive slugfest 56-42 over Sheridan College in MCC home opener. The 2 teams combined to shoot 30-111 FG (26%) and 6-35 3 point FG (17%) but MCC held a 23-9 advantage at the free throw line to walk out of the Centra at 2-2 on the young season. 

Both teams struggled to find the range from the start in this low scoring affair. KP Hoffman (Gallatin Gateway, MT) chipped in 10 points and Claire Borot (Martinique, France) had 11 rebounds to lead the Pioneers. 

The teams also combined for 57 turnovers the evening. MCC held a 47-32 edge on the boards as Lili Long (Melbourne, Australia) snagged 9 boards. afternoon at 1:00 PM
