Game 1 - Pioneers 4... Dawson 12
The MCC Pioneers came out flat for game 1 against Dawson on Tuesday afternoon and could not muster up any offensive explosion as the Buccaneers took the game 12-4.
What started out as a pitchers dual turned to a offensive explosion for Dawson from innings 3-7.
Dawson scored the 1st run of the game with a run in the top of the 3rd. The Pioneers answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on a RBI single from Liam Sullivan (CF - Great Falls, MT).
Dawson then picked up 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning and MCC scored a run in the bottom of the 4th to cut the lead to 5-2. After back to back walks and a single from Luke Thorne (SS - Missoula, MT) loaded the bases, Chaise Tracy (3B - Billings, MT) got an RBI on a sacrifice fly. That is as close as the Pioneers would get as Dawson scored 2 runs in the 5th and then 5 more in the top of the 7th to extend the lead to 12-2. MCC got 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th but never seriously threatened the Dawson lead.
Sullivan and Ethan Forrest (LF - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) had 2 hits apiece to lead the MCC bats.
AJ Truman (Eureka, MT) got the start and pitched 4 innings (6 H, 5 R, 2 BB, 4 SO). Owen Lucas (Assiniboine, Saskatchewan) pitched the 5th inning (2 H, 2 R, BB, 2 SO) and Logan Bertagnolli (West Jordan, UT) took the 6th inning (2 R, 3 BB). Croyden Christensen (Kaysville, UT) pitched the 7th inning (2 H, 3 R, BB).

Game 2 - Pioneers 14... Dawson 2 (5 Innings)
It was a tale of 2 games for the MCC Pioneers. The Pioneer bats got cooking early and often as MCC scored 14 runs in just 4 innings after have been cooled off in game 1.
Chase Carnahan (2B - Fallon, NV) led off the bottom of the 1st inning with a solo home run to give the Pioneers a lead they would not relinquish. Dawson did tie the game in the top of the 2nd inning but MCC plated 5 in the bottom of the 2nd to take a commanding lead. MCC loaded the bases on 2 walks and a single. With 2 outs, Liam Sullivan connected for a 2 RBI single and Chance Descalchuk (3B -Regina, Saskatchewan) connected on his 1st of 2 home runs in the game to drive in 3 and give MCC a 6-1 lead.
The Pioneers then opened the gates with 6 runs in the 3rd inning to buld a 12-1 lead. Anthony Williams (C - Billings, MT) walked (Courtesy Runner: Raymond Shawver) and Shawver moved to 2nd on a error. Dane Gilbert (1B - Monument, CO) hit a RBI double. Chaise Tracy followed that with another RBI double and the Pioneers moved the lead to 8-1. Tracy scored on a wild pitch, Sullivan walked, and Descalchuk got a 2 RBI double to make the score 11-1. Descalchuk scored on a Dawson error on the next batter.
In the 4th inning with 2 outs, Sullivan singled and Descalchuk connected on his 2nd home run. Descalchuk finished 3-3 with 7 RBI. Sullivan, Ethan Forrest, and Tracy each had 2 hits in the game.
Tanner Hagar (Casper, WY) got the start and pitched 4 innings (5 H, R, 3 BB, 5 SO). Pierce Hollowell (Miles City, MT) pitched the 5th inning (H, R, SO).
