Game 1 - Pioneers 0... Northeast CC 15 (5 Innings)
The long drive to Norfolk, NE seemed to stall the Pioneer baseball team for a game against the Northeast CC Hawks. The Pioneers were only able to muster up one hit and the Hawks hitters had a field day scoring 15 runs in just 4 innings.
Liam Sullivan (CF - Great Falls, MT) connected on a single in the 1st inning for the Pioneers only hit of the game.
Tanner Hagar (Casper, WY) got the start for MCC and pitched 3 innings (6 H, 8 R, 6 ER) before being replaced by Ryan Kelly (Miles City, MT) for the next 0.2 inning (4 H, 7 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, SO). Tyler Hutton (Sheridan, WY) struck out the only batter he faced.

Game 2 was much more competitive that game 1 but the result was the same as the Hawks swept the Pioneers on Wednesday.
After getting only one hit in game 1 and being held scoreless, the Pioneers struck for 3 runs in the top of the 1st to take a 3-0 lead. Chase Carnahan (2B - Fallon, NV) led the game off with a single. With one out, Chance Descalchuk (1B - Regina, Saskatchewan) followed with a single to put runners on the corners. Ethan Forrest (LF - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) came up with a RBI single and Holden Christensen (C - Casper, WY) made it 4 singles in the inning driving in Descalchuk. Chaise Tracy (3B - Billings, MT) drove in the final run of the inning with another single.
Northeast scored a run in the bottomof the 1st and took the lead in the 2nd with 1 more run. They added 2 in the 3rd inning before the Pioneers cut the lead to 6-4 with a sacrifice fly RBI from Carnahan. The Hawks got an insurance run in the bottom of the 4th and neither team scored the rest of the way.
Desculchuk had 3 hits in the game and Tracy had 2.
Lee Neugebauer (Rapid City, SD) got the start in game 2 and pitched 5 innings (9 H, 7 R, 6 ER, SO). Fellow Rapid City native Eli Kelley pitched the 6th inning (H, SO).
