Game 1 - Pioneers 6... Western Nebraska 7

Western Nebraska catcher Jase Satterfield connected on a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 7th inning for a walk off win over the MCC Pioneers in game 1 of a doubleheader on Monday afternoon in Scottsbluff, NE. The Pioneers took a 6-5 lead to the bottom of the 7th but a leadoff walk was followed by 3 consecutive singles accounting for the Cougar comeback. 

The Pioneers got on the board in the top of the 1st inning when Chance Descalchuk (3B - Regina, Saskatchewan) connected on a 2-run home run after a Luke Thorne (SS - Missoula, MT) walk to lead off the game. Western Nebraska answered with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st inning. 

MCC added a run in the top of the 2nd after Liam Sullivan (RF - Great Falls, MT) singled and scored on a RBI double from Anthony Williams (C - Billings, MT). The Pioneers then took a 6-4 lead in the top of the 3rd inning when Descalchuk connected on his 2nd 2-run homer of the game. The Pioneers final run of the game came on a bases loaded hit by pitch from Williams. 

WNCC picked up a run in the 5th to cut the lead to 6-5 and set the table for Satterfield's heroics. 

Tanner Hagar (Casper, WY) got the start for MCC and pitched 5 innings (9 H, 5 R, BB, 4 SO) before giving the ball to Pierce Hollowell (Miles City, MT) for the 6th inning (SO). Chaise Tracy (Billings, MT) got saddled with the loss coming in for the 7th inning and gave up 3 hits and a walk.

Game 2 - Pioneers 12... Western Nebraska 3

Lee Neugebauer (LHP - Rapid City, SD) had a pitching performance for the ages in game 2 on Monday afternoon in Sterling, CO. Neugebauer struck out 16 of the 22 batters he faced and the Pioneers rolled to a 12-3 win in a game Neugebauer pitched 6 innings and gave up only 2 runs on 3 hits while walking only one batter. 

The Pioneers scored in every inning except the 4th and started the game off with a run in the 1st inning. Holden Christensen (C - Casper, WY) hit a solo home run with one out. MCC got 2 runs in the 2nd inning after Liam Sullivan (RF - Great Falls, MT) reached base on a fielder's choice and Raymond Shawver (CF - Miles City, MT) walked, Sullivan scored on an error.  Luke Thorne then doubled to drive in Shawver and the Pioneers led 3-0. 

MCC got 2 more runs in the top of the 3rd on the strength of a 2 RBI double from Shawver after walks from Karter Scott (DH - Regina, Saskatchewan) and Bryson Herion (1B - Kalispell, MT). The Pioneers didn't score in the 4th inning but then took a 9-0 lead after 4 runs in the 5th inning. The Pioneers got 2 runs on a dropped 3rd strike and Cougar error. That was followed by a RBI single from Chance Descalchuk and a double steal executed by Christensen and Descalchuk. 

Western Nebraska got 2 runs in the 5th inning but MCC put up another in the 6th when Shawver connected on his 2nd double of the game to drive in Liam Sullivan who had walked. The Pioneers added insult to injury when Karter Scott smashed a 2-run homer following a single from Holden Christensen. 

Eli Kelley (Rapid City, SD) pitched the final inning for the Pioneers and gave up 1 run on 1 hit.
