Game 1 - Pioneers 14... NDSCS Wildcats 4 (6 Innings)
MCC hit back to back home runs on two separate occasions to power the Pioneers to a 14-4 win in game 3 of 4 game series on Sunday afternoon in Miles City.
NDSCS scored a run in the top of the 1st inning but the Pioneers answered with 2 in the bottom of the 1st on the strength of a 2 RBI double from Coleman Parry (1B - American Fork, UT). Then, in the bottom of the 2nd came the first of the back to back home runs. Tanner Goertz (LF - Highlands Ranch, CO) drove a ball in to the left field bleachers for a solo home run with 2 outs. On the next pitch, Lance Bratlien (CF - Helena, MT) dialed up a laser over the left field fence for his 12th home run of the season.
The Pioneers cashed in 2 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning with both runs coming on a wild pitch. NDSCS added a run in the 4th inning to cut the lead to 6-2 but the Pioneers answered that with one in the bottom of the 5th after loaded the bases via walk and hit by pitch, Bo Bahnmiller (3B - Helena, MT) hit in to a fielder's choice that brought home Luke Wilson (RF - Calgary, Alberta).
The Wildcats put 2 on the board in the top of the 6th to cut the Pioneer lead to 7-4 but MCC plated 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th to end the game due to the 10-run rule. Goertz led the 6th inning of with a single and Bratlien followed suit before Parry hit his 12th home run of the season with a high fly to the left field bleachers. On the following pitch, Wilson hit a massive shot over the right centerfield fence to put the Pioneers up 11-4. After 2 outs, Cooper Morlang (2B - Rapid City, SD) walked and Bahnmiller singled. Morlang scored on a passed ball and Bahnmiller scored on a Chandler Smith (C - Miles City, MT) single. Goertz then ended the game with a double that drove in courtesy runner Brady Bickett (Rapid City, SD).
Goertz finished the game 3-4 (HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R), Bratlien was 2-2 (HR, RBI, BB, 3 R), and Parry was 2-4 (HR, 2B, 5 RBI, R) as the front third of the lineup had 7 hits and 8 RBI.
Mayson Shively (Three Forks, MT) got the start on the mound and pitched 5.2 innings (4 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 2 SO) and Brandon Hegadus (Littleton, CO) got the final out of the game (H, SO).

Game 2 - Pioneers 8... NDSCS Wildcats 2
The Pioneers got a strong pitching effort from Davis Mosier (Billings, MT) as he struck out 9 Wildcats over 5.1 innings and gave up just 4 hits and 1 run. MCC scored in 5 of the 6 innings in which they batted. They got 2 runs in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings and a single run in the 1st and 4th inning.
NDSCS scored in the 1st inning again but the Pioneers got that run back in the bottom of the inning as Lance Bratlien scored on a passed ball. Neither team scored in the 2nd inning but the Pioneers hit 2 home runs in the bottom of the 3rd to go ahead 3-1. Bratlien hit his 13th homer of the season and Wilson connected on his 2nd of the day.
MCC got another run in the 4th inning after a Cooper Morland double, Chandler Smith singled to drive him home. The Pioneers got 2 runs in the 5th inning scoring on a ground out and then RBI double from Casey Morgan (DH - Salt Lake City, UT). In the bottom of the 6th inning, Bratlien doubled to bring in courtesy runner Bickett and Bratlien then scored on a Wildcat fielding error.
Bratlien was 2-3 (HR, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, 4 R) and Casey Morgan was 2-3 (RBI) as they were the only Pioneers with multiple hits.
Chase Goode (Castle Rock, CO) pitched the next 0.2 innings of perfect baseball filling in for Davis and then Max Holden (Kalispell, MT) knocked out the last inning (2 H, R, 2 SO).
