Pioneers Pile Up 29 Runs in Sweep of Lake Region on Saturday

Game 1 - Pioneers 15... Lake Region State 2 (5 Innings)

The MCC Pioneers put up 4 runs in the 1st inning and then followed that up with 9 runs in the 3rd to quickly take control of game one Saturday afternoon in a 15-2 victory over Lake Region State. The Pioneers used 12 hits and took advantage of 10 walks and one hit batsman.

3B Lane Neill (Belgrade, MT) was a perfect 3-3 at the plate (2B, RBI, 2 R), SS Jaeden Jordahl (Billings, MT) had a 2-3 effort at the plate (2B, 3 R, 2 BB), and 2B Jessen West (Billings, MT) was also 2-3 (2 RBI, R) and were the Pioneers with multiple hits. 1B Spencer Searcey (Denver, CO) had the only home run of the game for MCC and finished with 3 RBI. 

Jeremy Gee (Brigham City, UT) started on the mound and pitched a complete game 5 innings (5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 5 SO).

  • MCC had 12 hits and Lake Region only had 5.
  • LRSC commmitted 4 errors and MCC had none.
  • MCC had 3 stolen bases and LRSC had none.

Game 2 - Pioneers 14... Lake Region State 4 (5 Innings)

The Pioneers picked up where they left off in game one by scoring 6 runs in the first inning and then put up 5 more in the 4th to run away from the Royals. In game 2, the Pioneers took advantage of 9 hits and 17 free passes to first base (11 walks, 6 hit by pitch). 

Jaeden Jordahl reached base 5 times in a 2-2 effort (2 HBP, BB, 2 R) and C Takumi Kimoto (Brisbane, Australia) was 2-3 (2B, 2 RBI). Jessen West was also 2-2 (HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 4 R) and were the Pioneers with multiple hits. Spencer Searcey had a double and 2 RBI. 

Bridger Erickson (St. Anthony, ID) pitched a complete game 5 innings (5 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 4 SO).
