Malone struck 1st in the top of the 1st inning by plating 2 runs.
The Pioneers quickly struck back notching 2 of their own in the bottom of the 1st. LF Grant Gabbert (Thorton, CO) walked and then with one out RF Kruz Slevira (Billings, MT) was hit by a pitch. After another Pioneer out, Gabbert and Slevira executed a double steal to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. 3B Lane Neill (Belgrade, MT) connected on a 2 RBI single to left field.
The score remained tied 2-2 until the bottom of the 4th inning when DH Kam Kostial (Rexburg, ID) singled and Lane Neill reached base on an error. Kostial moved over to 3rd and Neill to 2nd. 2B Dalton Martin (Gillette, WY) grouned out to 2nd base but Kostial scored and the Pioneers led 3-2. That lead was short lived as Malone scored 5 runs in the top of the 5th to take a 7-3 lead.
The Pioneers could not get any closer in their final 3 at bats and Malone defeated MCC 7-3.
Jeremey Gee (Brigham City, UT) got the start for the Pioneers and pitched 4 innings (3 H, 6 R, 4 BB, 5 SO). Jacob Walker (Brisbane, Australia) pitched an inning (H, R) and Josh Banderob (Great Falls, MT) finished the final 2 innings (H, BB, 2 SO).

Not happy with how game #1 went on Wednesday morning, the MCC Pioneers got their bats going quickly by scoring 4 runs in the 1st and followed that up with 2 more in the 2nd, and another in the 3rd inning to build up a 7-0 lead. With one out in the bottom of the 1st, LF Matt Burton (Helena, MT) and CF Kruz Slevira (Billings, MT) each drew walks. After both stealing bases and another out, RF Wyatt Searcey (Denver, CO) singled to bring in Burton. DH Michael Ohlin smacked a double to bring in 2 more runs. 1B Tommy O'Connell (Kalispell, MT) walked and Ohlin advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch. Ohlin then scored as O'Connell was caught in a run down trying to steal 2nd.
C Bryan Roselles (Rapid City, SD) walked and Brady Jones (Manhattan, MT) replaced Roselles on the base paths as a courtesy runner. 2B Jaeden Jordahl (Billings, MT) promptly doubled to left field to bring in Jones. Burton then singled to right field putting runners on the corners. Jordahl ended up scoring on a wild pitch.
Tommy O'Connell cracked a solo home run with 2 outs in the 3rd inning putting the Pioneers up 7-0. Bethany tried to claw back in to the game with 3 runs in the 4th inning.
Bo Hays (Bozeman, MT) started on the mound and went 2.2 innings (0 H, BB, 5 SO) before being replaced by Spencer Searcey (Denver, CO). Searcey pitched 3.1 innings (4 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 SO) before giving way in the final inning to Cameron Murphy (Torrington, WY). Murphy pitched the 7th inning (H, 2 SO)
