Game 1 - Pioneers 13... Williston State 1 (5 Innings)
2B Cade Stuff went 3-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored and kicked things off with a RBI double in the bottom of the 1st and CF Jake Lacey finished things off with a mammoth grand slam in the bottom of the 4th as the Pioneers cruised to a 13-1 win in 5 innings. Lacey was 2-2 with 4 RBI and one run scored. RF Lewis Johnson capped off the 4-run 1st inning with a 3-run shot over the right field fence as the offensive onslaught saw the Pioneers score in every inning that they batted.
Right-hand pitcher Anthony Bleggi had things going on the mound going 4 innings and allowing only a solo home run in the 4th inning. He gave up 1 hit, struck out 5, and only walked one Teton to earn the victory. Jaxon Grogan pitched a perfect 5th inning and struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.
Game 2 - Pioneers 14... Williston State 4 (6 Innings)
The Pioneers shrugged off an early 0-2 deficit and scored runs in all 6 innings to finally take control and waltz away with a 14-4 win in Game 2 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Connor's Stadium in Miles City. RF Lewis Johnson was 3-3 with a home run and 3 runs scored and CF Jake Lacey continued his hot bat going 2-2 with a home run and 3 runs scored. The nation's HR leader Dawson Parry went 2-3 with a home run and 2 RBI and LF Ian Krump was 2-3 with a triple and 2 runs scored. The Pioneers slugged out 13 hits in the game and scored in all 6 innings.
Keith Manby got off to a rough start in the 1st inning but got things in gear after that and pitched 6 innings for the win. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits while striking out 6 and walking 3.
Game 3 - Pioneers 6... Williston State 3
A 4-run 1st inning was all the offense the Pioneers needed as they added insurance runs in the 6th and 7th to take the 3-game sweep with a 6-3 win over Williston State. 3B Tim Holyk doubled in Brayden Howard in the 1st, Lewis Johnson singled Holyk in after that and Ian Krump singled in both Johnson and Jake Lacey. MCC had only 7 hits in the game but scored in the 6th on a wild pitch and then scored in the 7th on a bases loaded walk by Grayson Skinner.
Dylan Rydalch started on the hill and when 3 2/3 giving up 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 5 Tetons. Lefty Cy Miller closed things out for the Pioneers as he want 3 1/3 innings and gave up only a hit and 2 walks. He struck out 6 as the 2 freshman pitchers stuck out 11 Williston State batter.
The Pioneers are now 31-11 on the season and 13-2 in MonDak Conference play. Game 4 of the series is Sunday at 10:00 AM as the teams try to get the series in before the forecasted rains hit town.
