Pioneer Baseball Wins 3 Over NDSCS

Game 1 - MCC 16... NDSCS 1

The Pioneers scored 14 runs in a dominating 1st inning and cruised to a 16-1 win in game 1 of a 4 game series against 1st year Region XIII opponent North Dakota State College of Science.

3B Tim Holyk hit a grand slam spearheading a huge Pioneer 1st inning, LF Ian Krump and CF Jake Lacey each added 2 RBI triples as the 18th ranked Pioneers dominated game 1 of what turned out to be a 3-game day defeating the NDSCS Wildcats 16-1 in 5 innings. 

SS Brayden Howard was 2-2 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored in the game. Krump was 2-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored as well as the Pioneers coasted from the first inning win game 1.

3 Pioneer pitchers combined on a 1-hitter after Wildcat 1B Manock broke up a no hit bid with a solo shot in the top of the 5th ending the shutout. 

 Game 2 - MCC 10... NDSCS 9

RF Lewis Johnson went 3-4 including a go ahead bases loaded double that scored 3 runs after the Pioneers fell behind 7-6 and propelled MCC to a 10-9 win in game 2 of a 4 game series. Johnson had 5 of the 9 Pioneer RBI in the game and also hit a 2-run homer in the 3rd. 1B Dawson Parry was 3-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. 

6 Pioneer pitchers had a hand in the victory for the Pioneers. Starter Keith Manby went 3 scoreless no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts before giving was to Camron Murphy. Murphy gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in 2 innings of work. Closer Jay Neugebauer walked the bases loaded before Cy Miller came in to finish things off striking out 2 Wildcats to end the game. 

Game 3 - MCC 12... NDSCS 1

SS Brayden Howard led off the surprise 3rd game with a solo shot to lead the way to a 12-1 win and a 3-0 sweep of Saturday tripleheader at Connor's Stadium. 1B Dawson Parry stayed hot going 3-3 with a triple and 2 runs scored as the Pioneers took a 3rd game in front of rough forecasted Sunday that led to the decision to play 3 on Saturday. 

Dylan Rydalch got the unexpected late day start and pitched a complete game 1-hitter giving up only a solo home run and striking out 9 Wildcats to get the dominating win.
