Pioneers Split Another Double Header With Bismarck State

Game 1 - Pioneers 8... Bismarck State 9 (8 Innings)

The MCC Pioneers scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to take a commanding 7-2 lead but gave up 4 in the 5th and another in the 6th before dropping an extra inning 9-8 affair with Bismarck State Saturday afternoon. The 7-run 4th was triggered by a bases loaded triple by LF Ian Krump. SS Brayden Howard, 1B Dawson Parry, and 3B Tim Holyk had multi-hit games for the Pioneers who dropped their 2nd straight to the Mytics after a 10-game winning streak. 

Keith Manby got the start for MCC going 4 1/3 innings and giving up 6 runs on 6 hits with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts. He gave way to Dylan Rydalch with went the rest of the way and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. 

Game 2 - Pioneers 11... Bismarck State 10

MCC rallied from a 9-4 deficit in the 5th inning as they plated 3 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th to rally and gain a split of a Saturday double dip in Miles City. 1B Dawson Parry went 3-3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored including the game tying 2-run blast in the 6th. That home run was followed with a solo shot by 3B Tim Holyk to give the Pioneers a 10-9 lead and MCC salvaged the split from the upset minded Mystics. Holyk homered twice and had 3 RBI in the game. 

Ian Krump and Jake Lacey each had 2 hits on the afternoon. The Pioneers scored 11 times on 12 hits but surrendered 5 walks. The 11th ranked Pioneers now sit in 3rd place in MonDak Conference play as only Williston State is unbeaten after only 2 home games. 

The Pioneers return home next Saturday and Sunday vs. NDSCS and will just show up and play hard when play resumed.
