Game 1 - Pioneers 5... Bismarck State 3
2B Cade Stuff hit 2 solo home runs, DH Lewis Johnson hit a 2-run blast and the Pioneers got an insurance run in the top of the 7th on an RBI single by 1B Dawson Parry as the 11th ranked Pioneers extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 5-3 win over the pesky Bismarck State Mystics. Stuff, Parry, and 3B Tim Holyk each had multi hit game as the Pioneers got their 5 runs off of 8 hits.
The Pioneers survived 3 home runs by the Mystics as they were all solo shots and Jett Hasegawa moved to 8-0 on the mound with a near complete game victory. Hasegawa went 6 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits and 3 runs with 9 strikeouts. Deklan Harper came in to the the final out of the game.
Game 2 - Pioneers 4... Bismarck State 5
SS Kyle Leapaldt hit a solo home run off of Pioneer relief pitcher Cy Miller in the bottom of the 6th as the Bismarck State Mystics snapped the MCC's 10 game winning streak and stunned the 11th ranked Pioneers 5-4 in game 2 of double header in Bismarck. The Mystics went deep 3 times in the game and rallied from a 4-1 deficit for the victory.
The Pioneers got a 3-run homer from 3B Tim Holyk and Jaden Webster had an RBI single in the 4-run 4th inning for the Pioneers. Dawson Parry went 2-3 with a run scored and CF Jake Lacey and C Jaden Webster each had 2 hits on the afternoon.
Anthony Bleggi got the start and went 5 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 9 hits while striking out 7 Mystics. Miller came in for the 6th inning and gave up the go ahead home run. The Pioneers are 23-10 on the season and 5-1 in MonDak Conference play.
The 2 teams will play again tomorrow in Miles City at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
