Pioneers Open MonDak Season With 2 Wins

Game 1 - Pioneers 10... Dakota College-Bottineau 4

The 18th ranked MCC Pioneers got off to a slow start in MonDak Conference play on Saturday afternoon rallying from a 0-2 deficit and won 10-4 over Dakota College-Bottineau. 1B Dawson Parry had the hot bat once again for the Pioneers going 3-5 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI in game 1. LF Ian Krump and RF Hunter Lasko each went 3-3 in the game with Krump scoring 3 times and Lasko driving in a run and scoring another in another offensive explosion by the Pioneers. DH Lewis Johnson went 2-3 with a double and a triple, scoring once and had 2 RBI. 

The Pioneers scored 3 runs in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, and 4 in the 5th to break the game open. Anthony Bleggi got the start on the mound and went 3 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits and 3 runs. Bleggi struck out 4 Lumberjacks and walked 3 batters. Cy Miller finished things off going 3 1/3 innings and striking out 6 while allowing only 1 run on 1 hit with 1 walk. 

 

Game 2 - Pioneers 13... Dakota College-Bottineau 3 (6 Innings)

Dawson Parry homered for the 3rd time on Saturday and went 2-2 with 2 walks and 2 RBI as the Pioneers scored 6 runs in the 2nd innning to waltz to a 13-3 win in 6 innings in game 2. 2B Cade Stuff went 3-4 at the plate including a double and scored 3 runs  to help spearhead the victory. RF Hunter Lasko was 2-4 at the plate with 3 RBI and a run scored. SS Brayden Howard had a double and 3 RBI while scoring twice. Hunter Lasko hit a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 6th to end the game due to the 10-run rule. 

Jett Hasegawa continued his perfect record on the mound moving to 8-0 pitching complete game giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. Hasegawa struck out 11 Lumberjacks and didn't walk a batter. The teams will play again on Sunday at 12:00 and 2:00 PM MST.
