Dawson Parry (American Fork, UT) was at it again as he hit a grand slam HR in the bottom of the 4th to break open a close game as the Pioneers scored 7 in that frame enroute to a 10-0 win in 6 innings. MCC only had 5 hits but Pioneer pitching kept the Lumberjacks at arms length limiting DCB to only 2 hits. Pioneer pitchers did walk 9 batters in Game 1 but the Jacks could not take advantage of the extra baserunners.
Lewis Johnson (Evans Head, Australia) had a 2-run double in the first inning to start things off and Jake Lacey had an RBI and scored a run going 1-3 from the leadoff spot.
Keith Manby (White Rock, BC) got the start on the mound and struck out the side in his 1 inning of work. Cy Miller (Helena, MT) walked 5 and struck out 5 Lumberjacks in 3 innings of work. Hunter Lasko (Salt Lake City, UT) pitched the final 2 innings giving up 2 hits and 3 walks with 1 strikeout.

Cade Stuff (Great Falls, MT) had a 2 RBI triple and scored 2 runs as the Pioneers held off a feisty Lumberjack squad 6-3 and sweep the 4-game series. Hunter Lasko drove in 2 runs with a single as the Pioneers other 2 runs were unearned. MCC had 6 hits in the game but had 8 batters walked by Lumberjack pitching.
Chase Linn (Great Falls, MT) got the start and gave up 2 hits and 3 runs in his one inning on the mound. Grayson Skinner (Rapid City, SD), Mason Flanary (Rexburg, ID) and Jay Neugebauer (Rapid City, SD) shut out DCB over the final 6 innings allowing only 2 hits and striking out 8. The Pioneers did walk 7 Lumberjack batters for the afternoon.
The Pioneers hit the road again back to Scottsbluff, Nebraska for a 4-game series with the Cougars on Tuesday and Wednesday. Game times each day are scheduled for 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
