Game 1 vs. Riverland CC

Riverland Community College (Austin, MN) scored 7 runs in the 5th inning and tacked on 2 more in the 6th and saddled the MCC Pioneer Baseball team with its first loss of the 2020 season. Deklen Harper (Laurel, MT) went 3-3 and had 3 of the Pioneers 8 hits on the game. The Pioneers struggled to get anything going offensively until the 6th inning when they plated 4 runs after trailing 8-0. Harper was the only Pioneer with multiple hits in this game. 

Tim Holyk (Nanaimo, BC) homered in the 6th for his only hit of the game. Ian Krump (Rapid City, ND) drove in 2 runs as well. Keith Manby (White Rock, BC) was saddled with the loss in this one as he gave up 6 runs on 6 hits in 4.1 innings of work. Manby struck out 4 Blue Devils and also walked 4. 

 Game 2 vs. Rainy River CC

Jack Stead (Adelaide, Australia), Deklan Harper (Laurel, MT), and Stockton Brems (American Fork, UT) each had 2 hits and Anthony Bleggi (Driggs, Idaho) pitched a gem on the mound as the Pioneers rallied from their first loss of the season with a 6-1 win over Rainy River CC.

Bleggi went 6 innings for the win and gave up only 4 hits while striking out 6. He walked 3 Rainy River batters but only surrendered the one run in the 4th inning. 

Harper doubled and Manby tripled while Brems doubled and tripled in the game.
