Miles Community College head baseball coach Jeff Brabant has announced that Dalton Martin from Gillette, WY will play for the Pioneers starting in the fall of 2020.
Martin is the son of Autumn and Rich Martin and currently attends Campbell County High School in Gillette, WY.
Martin is entering his senior season with the Gillette Roughriders under the tutelage of Coach Nate Perleberg. Dalton plays second base and hit .285 with a high OBP at .440. Dalton has seen time as a pitcher throwing a 2 hit shutout in a JV state championship game and he threw 45 innings as a junior.
While at MCC, Martin plans on working towards his degree in physical therapy.
On why Martin chose MCC: "I chose MCC because I liked how small it was, the student to teacher ratio and how nice everyone was. Also the team/coaches made me fit in without me really being on the team; that was probably my favorite part about it."
Coach Brabant on Dalton Martin: "Dalton comes from a terrific program with Coach Perleberg. We feel fortunate to continue the pathway from Roughrider to Pioneer. I really liked how Dalton competes and I like his drive and passion. His style and approach to the game is exactly what we preach every day in our program. He will fit right in and hit the ground running because we also know that Coach Perleberg will have him ready. We are excited to get Dalton on campus to continue his growth on and off the field."
