(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College Baseball team has announced that Kolby Hamblin will be joining the Pioneers for the 2019-2020 season.
Hamblin is a 6'0" shortstop & 3rd baseman from Bluffdale, UT. He attends and plays High School baseball at Summit Academy High School in Bluffdale, UT.
Kolby made the All-Region team as a SS in 2018 and is a team captain this year. In 27 games played and 102 plate appearances, Kolby has a .366 batting average and a .455 on base percentage. Kolby was a member of 2A Region 2nd place team in 2017 and a member of the 3A Region 2nd place team in 2018.
Kolby is the son of Gary and Tonya Hamblin of Bluffdale, Utah. While at MCC, Kolby will be working on his Generals.
Hamblin on attending MCC: "I chose Miles Community College because I have heard great things about both the college and the baseball program itself. My brother Jayden Hamblin has had nothing but good to say about the baseball program and the school and I look forward to having the opportunity to play with him for a year. I am looking forward to continuing my education in a smaller class setting. I am also looking forward to working with both Coach Brabant and Coach O'Connell in furthering my baseball career. They have had a lot of success from what I have seen, and I want to be a part of that."
Coach Brabant on Hamblin: "We are really excited to get Kolby on board for next year. We like to recruit guys up the middle, and Kolby fits that mold perfectly as he is a middle infielder that has some versatility. Offensively, he has good bat speed and uses all fields, which fits right into our offensive approach. He will be joining his brother Jayden, who will be a sophomore next year. For us to be able to get brothers of current or former players means a lot to us as a coaching staff. Those guys will have an awesome experience of being able to play with each other at the collegiate level that not a lot of players get the opportunity to do."
