Game 1 - Pioneers 28... Paradise Valley 14 (5 Innings)
The MCC Pioneers let loose with 16 runs in the 1st inning and cruised to a 28-814win over the Paradise Valley Pumas on Thursday afternoon in Phoenix, AZ.
MCC had 12 hits, 4 walks, 3 fielder's choice plays, and reached base on one error in that inning. PVCC scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and the Pioneers answered with 2 more runs in the 2nd inning.
Brooke Richardson (1B - Helena, MT) led the inning with a double and scored on a double by Rian Ferriter (3B - Butte, MT). Megan Brownson (C - Billings, MT) reached base on a fielders choice and Paityn Ralphs (2B - Ammon, ID) singled to load up the bases. Madison Moorman (LF - Laurel, MT) singled to drive in Ferriter and keep the bases loaded. Paradise Valley got one run in the bottom of the 2nd inning and would score 3 more in the 4th to cut the lead to 18-8.
MCC then put 4 runs on the board in the top of the 5th inning on a grand slam home run off of the bat of Rian Ferriter. PVCC then kept the game alive with 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th to make the score 22-14.
The onslaught of runs continued in the 6th inning for the Pioneers as they tallied 7 more runs in the inning. Dalilah Hernandez (SS - Laurel, MT) was hit by a pitch and Viannca Martin (CF - Billings, MT) singled. Tori McClelland (DP - Red Deer, Alberta) doubled to drive in Hernandez put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Lily Bolin (1B - Belgrade, MT) singled to drive in Martin and then Ferriter singled to drive in McClelland. Brownson hit another single to load the bases for a Ralphs grand slam home run and the final tally of 29-14.
Ferriter had an impressive 5-5 performance (2B, HR, 7 RBI, 5 R) at the plate and Ralphs was 4-6 (HR, 6 RBI, 2 R) as was Moorman (2B, 2 RBI, 2 R). Martin was 3-4 (RBI, 2 R) and MCC got 2 hits each from Webb, Krein, McClelland, Richardson, and Bolin. The 28 base hits for the Pioneers is a season high.
Rylie Schlepp (Helena, MT) pitched the full 6 innings for MCC (12 H, 14 R, 10 ER, 6 BB, 4 SO) and picked up the win.

Game 2 - Pioneers 11 ... Paradise Valley 3 (5 Innings)
The bat of Pioneer 1B Lily Bolin proved to be the difference in game 2 on Thursday afternoon. The big shot of the 3-run 1st inning came off of the bat of Lily Bolin who blasted a 3-run home run with one out.
MCC got another run in the top of the 4th inning on a RBI single from Dalilah Hernandez. The 5th inning was a big one for MCC as they piled on 7 runs. Lily Bolin cracked her 2nd home run in the game with a solo shot that gave the Pioneers a 5-1 lead. Fellow Belgrade Panther grad Sierra Tuss (DP) followed the Bolin home run with a double and promptly scored on a Paradise Valley error. After a single by Tori McClelland, Rhanda Vindiola (LF - Columbus, MT) reached on an error, and Jordan Epp (RF - Cold Lake, Alberta) singled to load the bases. McClelland scored on a wild pitch and Hernandez singled to drive in Vindiola. Khloey Robinson (C - Belgrade, MT) singled but Epp was out trying to score at home plate. Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID) nailed a 3-run home run to centerfield and the Pionees took a 11-1 lead to the bottom of the 5th.
Paradise Valley took advantage of a Pioneer error in the bottom of the 5th inning and scored 2 runs to nearly keep the game going but the Pioneers prevailed 11-3.
Arin Eaton (Belgrade, MT) pitched a strong game for the Pioneers going 5 innings (4 H, 3 R, BB, 7 SO) as the Pioneers sweep Thursday in Phoenix.
