Game 1 - Pioneers 11... Bismarck State 3 (6 Innings)
The MCC Softball team took to the road for the 1st time in conference play and rallied late to take an 11-3 win in 6 innings. MCC got off to a slow start giving up 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and being held scoreless until the 5th inning.
The Pioneers finally got on the board in the bottom of the 5th inning after having trailed 3-0 for 4 innings. 2B Shannon Nelson (Livingston, MT) reached base with a bunt single and SS Sierra John (Idaho Falls, ID) followed that with a single. RF Cassidy Bagnell (Frenchtown, MT) reached base on an error to load the bases. LF Liz Ybarra (Belgrade, MT) then hit a ball that was misplayed in left field and all 3 runners scored. CF Skylar Higgs (Livingston, MT) walked and 3B Megan Johnson (Preston, ID) gave the Pioneers their 1st lead of the game with a 2 RBI double to centerfield and a 5-3 lead. DP Taylor Feller (Laurel, MT) drove in Johnson with a double of her own and with one out, C HaiLeigh Davis (Shepherd, MT) added another RBI double to stretch the lead to 7-3.
MCC got 4 more in the 6th inning to end the game due to the 8-run rule. Ybarra walked and Higgs reached on an error by the BSC shortstop. Megan Johnson singled to drive in Ybarra. Feller walked to load the bases and 1B Isabelle Adams (Park City, MT) singled to drive in 2 more. Nelson hit an infield single to load the bases and the game ended when John was hit by a pitch.
Hazel Eaton pitched 6 innings for the Pioneers (7 H, 3 R, 2 SO). 4 of the Mystic hits came in the 1st inning.

Game 2 - Pioneers... Bismarck State
MCC picked up where they left off game one by scoring 2 runs in the 1st inning. Sierra John doubled to start the game and Cassidy Bagnell singled to put runners on 1st and 3rd. John scored as Bagnell stole 2nd base. Liz Ybarra grounded out but Bagnell scored on a BSC error trying to throw her out at 3rd.
BSC picked up a run in the bottom of the 2nd and that would be all they could muster up off of the pitching of Peyton Whitehead (Joliet, MT). Whitehead pitched a complete game 7 innings allowing only 4 hits and striking out 10 Mystic batters. Whitehead also did not walk a BSC hitter.
The game was a 2-1 stalemate all the way until the top of the 6th when the Pioneers put a little distance between them nad the Mystics with 2 runs. 3B Morgan Lampshire (Murray, UT) singled and moved to 2nd on a ground by 2B Mars Weaver (Rexburg, ID). Sierra John drove an RBI single to centerfield that scored Lampshire. John advanced to 2nd on a ground out by Cassidy Bagnell and the scored on a Liz Ybarra single.
In the 7th inning, Megan Johnson started the inning with a single and Alexa Lewis (Bozeman, MT) replaced her on 1st base. Lewis advanced to 2nd on a sacrifice by Feller. Lampshire drove Lewis home with a single and then moved to 2nd on throw to the plate. Mars Weaver then hit a single to drive in Lampshire for the final 6-1 count.
