Game 1 - Pioneers 1... Dawson 6
For the 2nd straight day, Dawson CC pitchers made it tough for the Pioneer offense to score runs and Dawson took advantage of some timely hitting in a 6-1 win on Thursday afternoon. The Pioneers could only muster up 1 run on 5 hits in the game scoring on a Tessa Della Silva RBI double in the 3rd inning. Dawson scored 3 in the first inning and 3 more in the second and made those 6 runs hold up for the rest of the game.
Kassidy Kinzie took to the circle again after a tough loss in game 1 on Wednesday and gave up 6 runs on 8 hits going a complete game 6 innings. Kinzie walked 3 batters while striking out 2.
Game 2 - Pioneers 2... Dawson 7
Dawson CC Buccaneers hit 3 home runs and scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and then followed it up with 4 in the 3rd to build another early 6-run lead to sweep the 4-game series over the MCC Pioneers and build a huge lead in the MonDak Conference standings. LF Taylor Woolley got the Pioneers on the board in the 4th inning with a solo home run and then scored the other run in the 6th inning on a fielders choice ground ball by CF Autumn Porter. The Pioneers only had 4 hits in the game and 2 walks.
Dawson pitching held MCC to only 7 total runs in the 4-gmae sweep.
Kassidy Kinzie pitched a complete game for the 3rd time in 4 games going 6 innings giving up 7 runs on 8 hits. Kinzie struck out 3 Bucs and walked 2.
The Pioneers are now 8-4 in MonDak Conference play and 11-11 overall. They head to Devils Lake, ND for a 4-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
