Game 1 - Pioneers 16... Bismarck State 1
Kassidy Kinzie tossed a 2-hitter in 5 innings striking out 11 Mystics and the Pioneer bats belted 17 hits in a dominating performance Friday in Bismarck, ND. The Pioneers scored 5 runs in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings to spearhead the route. 2B Tessa Della Silva went 3-4 at the plate including 2 doubles with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. SS Abby Johnson was 2-4 with a double, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored while CF Autumn Porter, 1B Hazel Eaton, and C Janie Nelson each had multi-hit games.
The Pioneers had 8 stolen bases in the game as well.
Game 2 - Pioneers 13... Bismarck State 1
In a mirror image of game 1, Kelealani Waiau tossed a 1-hitter over 5 innings and struck out 9 Mystics as th Pioneers overwhelmed the Mystics again. 1B Hazel Eaton was 3-4 with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored and Waiau helped herself at the plate going 2-2 with a triple and 3 RBI. Kassidy Kinze went from the circle to 2B and was 2-2 with an RBI. SS Abby Johnson was 2-2 with and RBI and 2 runs scored. The Pioneers had 13 hits as they scored 29 runs on 30 hits in just 10 innings of softball.
The Pioneers moved their season record at 9-7 and an impressive 6-0 in their first ever MonDak Conference season.
The teams will play another double header on Saturday in Miles City at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
