(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College Softball team has announced that Kyla Johnson will be joining the Pioneers for the 2019-2020 season.
Johnson is a 5'1" pitcher and second baseman from Hamer, Idaho. She attends West Jefferson High School in Terreton, Idaho.
Kyla received athletic honors in softball from 2017-2019. She also was a member of the Second Place District team in 2016, the undefeated District Champion Team in 2019, and the Third Place State team in 2019.
Kyla is the daughter of Travis and Devin Johnson of Hamer, Idaho. She is planning to pursue a degree in education while at MCC.
Johnson on attending MCC: "I chose Miles Community College because I desire to be in a place where I can still have unity and a family feel. I believe that at a smaller college, I will be able to meet more of the students and impact more lives. I also believe that a smaller town allows for stronger unity and togetherness. Coming from Hamer, I wanted to still be able to feel close to my peers, teachers, coaches, and other community members."
Coach Juarez on Johnson: "Kyla was being recruited by several other schools, so we are extremely honored that she has chosen MCC! Kyla will be a huge asset to our team, as she is a great competitor, works extremely hard, and knows what it takes to excel both on the field and in the classroom. We couldn't be more pleased for getting the opportunity to coach this multi-talented student athlete. Welcome to our Ohana! Congrats you!"
