(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College Softball team has announced that Kawena Kahana-Travis will be joining the Pioneers for the 2019-2020 season.
Kahana-Travis is a 5'6" outfielder from Wahiawa, Hawaii. She attends high school at Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
Kawena was First-Team her sophomore year and was a part of the OIA Division I Champion team in 2015. She was also part of the State Champion team and Division I Champion team during her senior year.
Kawena is the daughter of Kehaulani Kahana-Travis of Wahiawa, Hawaii and Jason Kahana-Travis of Wahiawa, Hawaii. She is planning to pursue a degree in nursing while at MCC.
Kahana-Travis on attending MCC: "I've chosen Miles Community College because I would love to try something new away from home. Coach Shawna is very nice and very welcoming. They have my major, which is nursing and the cost of going isn't too much and it's not too little either. I want to try life away from home and Miles Community College is a great start!"
Coach Juarez on Kahana-Travis: "Kawena comes to MCC with successful select ball experience, as well as a wonderful high school ball tenure. She is currently on fire at the plate and is doing a great job leading her team to success in Hawaii. We look forward to her bringing that same amount of passion, energy, and desire when she puts on our Pioneer uniform. Welcome to the Ohana, Kawena! We cannot wait to have you here with us!"
