Dawson Loewen signed

(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College Rodeo team has announced that Dawson Loewen will be joining the Pioneers for the 2019-2020 season. 

Loewen is a 5'9" steer wrestler/tie-down roper/team roper from Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada.  He attended high school at John Paul II Collegiate in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.

Loewen was the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo 2018, Canadian Champion Steer Wrestler 2018, Provincial Champion Steer Wrestler 2018,  Top 10 National Steer Wrestling 2018, Canadian Reserve Champion Heeler 2018, All Round Provincial Champion 2018, SHSRA Season Leader Team Roping Heeler 2018, Canadian Champion go round winner 2017, and SHSRA Reserve Champion Steer Wrestler.

Dawson is the son of Dan & Lavaunne Loewen of Battleford Saskatchewan.  While at MCC, Dawson plans to work on a degree in Business.

Coach Witcher on Loewen: "MCC Pioneer Men's Rodeo team would like to welcome Dawson Loewen from North Battleford, Saskatchewan.  Dawson competes in Tie Down Roping, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping.  In high school he was 2018 Canadian Champion Steer Wrestler, 2018 Canadian Reserve Champion Heeler, 2018 Top 10 at NHSRA Finals and in 2017 Canadian Reserve Champion Steer Wrestler.  He also was 2017 KCRA Senior High Point Champion.  Dawson has completed the Farrier course at the Oklahoma Horse Shoeing School and we are very excited to add him to the team!"
